At Genpak, respecting and helping to preserve the environment is one of our top priorities. From research and development to North American stewardship partnerships, our organization is committed to developing and implementing eco-driven initiatives that help create a better tomorrow.
Research and Development
Innovation is critical to the development of sustainable processes and food service products. Genpak’s top-tier research and development department continually works to test and reinvent environmentally conscious products that meet the food service industry’s ever-changing needs.
Our Products
Genpak manufactures and supplies a variety of food service products that are either curbside recyclable, reusable or industrial compostable. For instance, our Harvest Fiber line of containers is made from annually renewable substances and meets the ASTM standard D6868 for compostability. Our Clover and ProView lines are dishwasher-safe and reusable, encouraging the end-consumer to utilize the hinged container as an addition and not a piece of waste.
Product Recycling and Education
Genpak actively sponsors Foam Recycling Coalition (FRC) grants, increasing foam (polystyrene) food service packaging recycling capabilities throughout North America. From Tennessee to Wisconsin, FRC grants provide technical resources and funding assistance for programs aimed at starting or strengthening post-consumer recycling programs. Since 2015, over 6 million residents in the USA and Canada have benefited from FRC grants.
Recent developments – Jan 2021 – Binghampton Development Corporation received a $50,000 grant for a foam densifier, giving Memphis, TN residents an option for recycling foam.
