Reuse

As its name implies, to Reuse something is to simply use an item more than once, or for something other than what is was originally intended for. Even though all Genpak products were originally designed for single use applications, there are several items that may be used multiple times and for multiple purposes.

Our Smart Set Pro containers and lids are top shelf dishwasher safe and may be used again for a variety of home applications. Since they are microwave safe, they are perfect for “left over night” where foods are warmed up for serving. Genpak clear Hinged Deli containers may also be washed out for further home use. With their full 360° perimeter seal and excellent barrier properties, these containers will work very well for home food storage that needs to be refrigerated. These containers are not meant for the microwave, but work very well in the refrigerator or freezer.

Genpak oven ready Bakery Pans and Food Trays may also be cleaned and used again. These products are dual ovenable, which means they can be used in the conventional oven or the microwave oven. We strongly recommend however, that for home use, these products be used strictly in a microwave. Professional bakeries and food processors have the knowledge and experience to use these PET products in the oven and for some things, its best left up to the professionals.

Genpak Flexible products also have many home use applications. Our handle bags may be used again as your own grocery bag, laundry bag or just about any situation requiring a bag or sack.

To reuse an item is more of a personal decision that must be made at the consumer level. At Genpak we support the practice of reusing items and will continue to manufacture items that may be used again in home applications.
